De Pere Youth Baseball Scholarship
The DPYB Scholarship is available to a De Pere and West De Pere High School student who has participated in the De Pere Youth Baseball program for a minimum of three years. The scholarship is designed to aid a student in their pursuit of a higher education in either a bachelor's or associate degree program. The scholarship is in the amount $1,000.00 and will be awarded to one individual from each school. Applicants are not eligible for more than one scholarship. The De Pere Youth Baseball Association will review the scholarship program at least annually; and reserves the right to change any or all aspects of the application and program.
Scholarship Criteria:
-Enrollment as a graduating senior from De Pere or West De Pere High School.
-Involvement in the De Pere Youth Baseball program for at least 3 years.
-Achievement of GPA of 3.0 or above.
-Verification by the Athletic Director as being free from any co-curricular code violations during the past four years.
Application Process & Key Dates:
-Applications will be available via the De Pere and West De Pere counseling offices beginning January 13, 2025. Applications can also be found here.
-Submit the application to the De Pere or West De Pere High School office no later than April 11, 2025.
-Applicants must complete the application and request the counseling office to attach a copy of their high school transcript, which should include the first semester or trimester of their senior year.
-Application includes an essay of 500-1000 words on one of the following statements:
-The effect/role baseball has played on my life.
-What baseball has meant to me.
-Scholarship award winners for each school will be announced at their Senior Scholarship Awards Program.
-Payment to the student will be made following completion of their first semester of college. To receive payment, the student must submit a copy of their first semester college transcripts to De Pere Baseball Association for payment. A check will be made payable to the student and the education institution that they attend.
Review Process:
An independent committee will review the applications. Names will be removed by the De Pere Youth Baseball Scholarship Committee coordinator and forwarded to the independent committee. After every member of the committee reads all of the applications, they will be ranked and top ranked candidates from each school will be selected. Criteria will be academics and the essay.
